Cortex Developer is a free Software Development Kit designed to help you easily integrate the Vortex BCI system in your own software applications. Imagine, design and create your own BCI applications. Beta-test your applications on Cortex Play and gain valuable feedback from the community. Finally, sell your finished app on Cortex Play, or release it to the community for free!
So why is the SDK free? Because we want our users to be able to experiment with our BCI technology, explore the vast scope of potential applications at their leisure, and dream up new and unexpected implementations of BCI technology. In the same spirit, expect extensive dev support on our part, as well as regular hackathons with prizes to further incentivize independent creation!

Cortex Developer provides developers with access to the raw EEG data feed coming from the Vortex, as well as a number of filtering and denoising tools to improve data quality. It also contains synthetic data simulators to help during the development phase.
But it’s the machine learning tools that are the coolest part! Through our dedicated WebSocket application you’ll have access to the real-time output of our pre-trained neural networks providing neural pattern recognition functionality in your code, as well as machine learning training tools to design, train and optimize your own neural networks for neural pattern recognition!
